That’s just one of several topics Game Daily discussed with Nintendo of America Marketing SVP, George Harrison. As gamers continue to expect more interactivity from their gaming experience, Game Boy’s glory days may soon be over.
Says George Harrison:
The Game Boy Advance as it exists today, like any platform, really survives based on the software and as developers begin to move their new software efforts away from the Game Boy and move it over to DS, fewer titles come out. So this year in our marketing, you really won’t see much push in against Game Boy itself, so it will seek its own level. It’s hard to say whether in the future we would ever bring back the Game Boy trademark.
The Nintendo DS has already proved itself a ready successor to the Game Boy and from the interview it looks like Nintendo will focus its marketing efforts on the DS and whatever comes next. Looks like Game Boy’s end is near…
Game Daily also talks about Nintendo’s E3 announcements which left gamers with lots of questions and two few answers, so Game Daily squeezes out a little more information about the new peripherals and Wii Ware. Read the entire article here.
